Kingwood, Texas — HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is proud to announce that John Corbeil was recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the 40 Under 40 for 2026. The profiles of all the honorees are featured in the February issue of MH magazine and online at Modern Healthcare 40 Under 40 website.
This program recognizes the healthcare industry's rising stars age 40 and under who contribute to a culture of innovation and help their organizations achieve and exceed financial, operational and clinical goals.
“Our 2026 class of 40 Under 40 epitomizes the many talents that healthcare organizations will tap to propel the industry forward,” said Mary Ellen Podmolik, editor-in-chief of Modern Healthcare. “These individuals, who include entrepreneurs forming new companies, technical experts testing new ways to harness artificial intelligence and clinicians advancing care, collectively are working toward a greater good for all of us.”
Since taking the helm in 2018, Corbeil has led HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood to extraordinary growth and performance. Corbeil’s creation of the S.W.A.T. Patient Safety Program reduced serious safety events by 61% and hospital-acquired infections by 57%, helping the hospital earn recognition as one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades earlier this year. Corbeil, along with his hospital leadership team, have been recognized for their work on culture and being one of the top hospitals in HCA Houston Healthcare for employee and physician engagement.
Corbeil has consistently exceeded financial and growth expectations while expanding access to care through multiple sites of care including three freestanding ERs, affiliated urgent care centers, and the opening of the region’s first dedicated heart hospital.
Corbeil has also driven clinical innovation and quality excellence. Corbeil launched Northeast Houston’s first Trans Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) program, achieved Level II Trauma designation, expanded robotic surgical capabilities, and established ACGME-accredited residency programs supporting over 140 trainees.
