Surgical procedures may be required for some conditions, including gynecologic cancers, endometriosis, pelvic pain, fibroids and abnormal bleeding. Many of our locations offer advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques, such as laparoscopic and robot-assisted technology. These techniques can provide numerous benefits, including reduced scarring, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery times.

Routine gynecology

Routine gynecological exams and screenings play an important role in a woman's overall health, as well as in the prevention of breast, cervical, ovarian and uterine cancers. Our OB/GYNs provide routine gynecological services for adults and adolescents such as well-woman's exams, contraceptive counseling and menopause management. In addition, routine gynecology services are offered at Woman's Health clinic locations throughout Houston-area communities and Women's Care Centers in East Harris County.

We provide a range of treatments for women's pelvic issues that can result from certain medical conditions or childbirth, including urinary problems, difficulty with defecation and pelvic or sexual pain. Common pelvic floor disorders include pelvic organ prolapse, overactive bladder, urinary and fecal incontinence, as well as chronic urinary tract infections. These conditions can be treated through medicine, gynecological surgery or physical therapy. Along with traditional treatments, many of our hospitals also offer less invasive care options, such as pelvic floor therapy, which can also help with pelvic pain that is myofascial, organ or nerve-related.

Within our network of care, The Woman's Hospital of Texas is a Center of Excellence for Continence Care in Women.
