Dr. Songsangkhan was born and raised in Thailand. Given that she was the first child and it's common for parents to give their children nicknames, her parents gave her the nickname Best. When Dr. Songsangkhan moved to Texas, her friends could not say her first name so Best has stuck until now. Even at work, most people call her Dr. Best or Dr. Song.
