Oncology care awarded signature status at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake
Clear Lake, Texas — HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake breast and colorectal cancer programs have been recognized as Sarah Cannon Signature Programs.
Based in Nashville, Tennessee, The Sarah Cannon Cancer Network is one of the leaders in oncology services in the Greater Houston area, making this honor a gold standard stamp of approval for the Clear Lake hospital.
HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is the first facility to be recognized as a Sarah Cannon Signature Program in the Gulf Coast Division.
The Sarah Cannon Signature Program recognizes and celebrates programs that have taken significant steps to providing a higher quality of care to the patients they serve. Achievement of the signature program status speaks to the collective commitment of our physicians, nurses, oncology nurse navigators and administrators who are focused on continually improving patient-centered care.
“It means we are one of the best in the world,” said Dr. Theodoros Voloyiannis, founder and Chairman of the National Accredited Program for Rectal Cancer at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake. “We have the clinical expertise, the programmatic support and the volume of patient outcomes to be recognized as a leader in the oncology space. I am so proud of our entire team and our brave patients who continue to fight colorectal cancer — one of life’s toughest diseases.”
Dr. Jennifer Sasaki, medical director of the breast program at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake, noted that the recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire oncology team. “The signature status helps reassure our breast cancer patients and their families that they are receiving the highest quality care in their community. I am proud to be a part of this group!”
